Our Mission
The Detroit Recovery Project Incorporated (DRP) strengthens, rebuilds, and empowers communities affected by drug and alcohol addiction and other underserved populations. DRP supports individuals in identifying and resolving barriers to achieving a healthy and productive drug-free lifestyle.
History
The Detroit Recovery Project was birthed out of a collaboration between the City of Detroit Bureau of Substance Abuse Prevention, Treatment and Recovery and Partnership for a Drug-Free Detroit. In 2003, the DRP was founded and funded by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Service Administration Center for Substance Abuse Treatment-Recovery Community Support Program.
Over the years, the DRP has developed into an incredible organization, touching the lives of recovering persons, their families, returning citizens, the homeless and all other underserved populations. As a result, in July of 2005, the DRP became an independent, non-profit organization.
The Detroit Recovery Project Incorporated has a bright future ahead with "new" innovative HIV Outreach Program as well as an expansion to provide Recovery Support Services to the City of Highland Park. The DRP is committed to do its parts in "creating a safe and drug-free environment throughout Southeast Michigan."
